Genting Highlands

A carefully planned resort community in the Titiwangsa Mountains near Kuala Lumpur, Genting Highlands offers an enchanting getaway from city life while still having access to shopping, dining, hotels and casino gaming. Also known as Resorts World Genting, the resort is accessible via the Awana Skyway gondola soaring over a 130-million-year-old rainforest.

Things to do

Family fun is a given in the Genting Highlands, with interactive and laser games at Vision City Video Games Park and a 28-lane bowling centre in First World Plaza. A lifestyle mall with more than 70 outlets, SkyAvenue offers you the chance to discover first-class shopping in addition to international dining at 6,000 feet.

On the third level of the plaza, you'll find the Seni Kome Peng Heng, East Coast Arts & Cultural Centre featuring Eastern Malaysian art, food, games and crafts, including an orang asli exhibition from indigenous tribes. On a rocky slope near the resort, you can explore Chin Swee Caves Temple harbouring a 15-metre high statue of Buddha and a nine-story pagoda lit by 10,000 ''blessing lamps''.

Snow World transforms the resort into a winter wonderland with play slides and toboggan runs, as well as a World Heritage village offering an English tea shop, French Bakery, Swiss chocolates and Spanish wines. If you're feeling lucky head to the Casino de Genting, as it buzzes with gaming action 24 hours a day.
